The Value of Tech Summits
While I wasn’t able to make it to last week’s Total Tech Summit 23, attending the previous Total Tech Summit was an incredible experience that left a lasting impression on me. Whether you are an Owner or Operator, you’ll find the event to be a valuable platform for networking, learning, and gaining insights from industry experts.

It was refreshing to be surrounded by like-minded professionals who share the same passion for the business. The connections and knowledge obtained were truly invaluable.
Joining next year’s summit (TTS 24 will be in San Antonio, TX) will provide you with immense benefits and contribute to your growth not only as an integrator, but as a professional. Its’ small format (as compared to an event like the CEDIA Expo) is what allows the most bang for your buck. Check out what others are saying after attending this year.

Lessons Learned from the Automotive Industry
One of our recent NL’s featured an article about the danger of the “Not Invented Here” syndrome. In it, we highlighted how Integrators shouldn’t be afraid to take lessons from other industries.
There’s an interesting article about how the automotive industry (specifically NAPA and the Hendrick Automotive Group) is tackling the problem of filling skilled positions by developing the next generation of technicians.
We here at BreakfastBites.co felt the article presents valuable takeaways for our readers.

First, the article highlights the importance of collaboration between industry leaders and educational institutions to bridge the skills gap.
NAPA and Hendrick Automotive Group have partnered with high schools and community colleges to create programs that provide hands-on training and mentorship opportunities for aspiring technicians.
This collaborative effort not only ensures a pipeline of skilled professionals but also enhances the overall quality of the industry.
As an audio-video integrator, you can apply this same approach by actively engaging with educational institutions and industry associations.
By forming partnerships with schools and offering internships or apprenticeship programs, you can contribute to the development of the next generation of integrators and foster a culture of continuous learning for your company.
Additionally, the article emphasizes the importance of mentorship and on-the-job training.
The thought here is that Integrators can implement mentorship programs within their own organizations, allowing experienced professionals to share their knowledge and expertise with newcomers.
This not only benefits the mentees but also helps develop leadership skills among the mentors.
Overall, this article serves as a reminder of the value of collaboration, education, and mentorship in addressing the challenges we face as integrators.
By embracing these principles, we can ensure a thriving and skilled workforce while raising the standards of our industry.
